Dr. Jones observed that the Liberian people have suffered for too long due to precarious attitudes of the country administration which have reduced them to impoverishment and desperation, while few enjoyed the resources of the nation.
Speaking to citizens of Montserrado County in District #3 over the weekend, the MOVEE political leader said his administration will ensure that the revenues generated from the resources of the country are equally distributed to benefit all Liberians irrespective of status or religious background.
He added that democracy does not call for few individuals enjoying the resources of the country, but that all citizens must enjoy the wealth through infrastructure development, provision of better living condition, education and social benefits.
Dr. Jones claimed that Liberia has the resources to change the living conditions of the Liberian people but the continual suppression and oppression by the Government are prime factors to make the people beggars and slaves in their country.
He called on the people of District #3 to make decision in 2017 which will reflects their lives, and not people that will come to them with rhetoric and political jargon just to get their political blessings and later dash them away as it has been done in the past.
The former CBL Executive Governor said he is coming to the presidency not to become rich like others, but he is coming with the intent to improve the living conditions and the country infrastructure which for years have become the prime factors for lack of trust in leaders by the citizens.
For their part, citizens of the district thanked the MOVEE political leader for his visit to the district, and promised to always listen to him, but stressed that it was too soon to promise him their political support in 2017.
Through their spokesperson Amos Kollie, the citizens also commended Dr. Jones for his recent economic empowerment of ordinary Liberians.
They also promised to be with him up to 2017, but underscored the need for cohesiveness in fostering democracy in the district.
