According to the resolution, the speaker’s removal follows an investigation into complaints filed against him, by representatives Henry B. Fahnbulleh and Samuel G. Kogar of Montserrado and Nimba counties respectively.
The resolution stated amongst others that the speaker took certain actions in violation of the rules and ethics of the House by disrespecting and bringing members of the house to disrepute and public ridicule.
“The committee on rules order and administration, charged with the investigation of the speaker has submitted its findings and recommendation to the house to remove the speaker for a cause and that the constitution and rules require two thirds of the members to remove the speaker”, the resolution said.
The resolution furthered “Forty nine members of the House of Representatives representing two thirds of the house have affixed their signatures to this document removing the speaker. Members of this honorable body sought to have the speaker recused him from presiding until he is otherwise acquitted or the matter resolved, in accordance with the rules of the house and proper decorum”.
