According to the Liberia News Agency (LINA), the accused Samuel Moore was found guilty of murder by the 9th Judicial Court in Gbarnga Bong County for deliberately killing his girlfriend.
Mr. Moore, a resident of Sanoyea district in Bong County was brought down guilty by an empanelled jury on Tuesday before the Resident Circuit Court Judge Boima Kontoe.
The trial jurors said the verdict was consistent with the evidence produced in Court by the prosecution.
Moore was arrested in August this year for allegedly killing his girlfriend identified as Marwoe Kerkular with a cutlass in Sanoyea town for allegedly failing to give proper account of the sum of LD7, 000 which she credited from a local savings club.
According to court records argument broke out between Samuel Moore and his girl friend Marwoe when she allegedly refused to give account of the LD$7,000.00 which she took from a local saving club in the town.
In another judicial news, days after two GT bank employees were convicted by criminal Court C’, an employee of the GT Bank has been arrested and dragged to court for allegedly stealing over USD$ 24,000.00 from the Bank.
Employee Arnold Smith was charged with theft of property for failing to reconcile GT bank checks owned by First International Bank.
The document claimed that suspect Smith took advantage of his position at the Finance and Control section of the bank to dupe the institution.
The suspect’s action violates chapter 15, section 15, point 56 and 15.51 of the revised penal law of Liberia, and as such he risks five years of imprisonment, if found guilty of the crime as provided for by law.
