A Ministry of Defense statement noted that accreditation will take place at the Department of Public Affairsof the Ministry at the Barclay Training Center from February 9 to 10. The 59th Armed Forces Day will be celebrated on Thursday, February 11, and the ministry is urging journalists desirous of covering the official program to obtain their accreditation.
The statement from the MOD Department of Public Affairs stated that only one reporter per institution will be given accreditation. Meanwhile, the MOD has released the calendar of events marking the celebration of the Day. It said there will be a Jammat Service at the Matadi Central Mosque, a soccer match between the AFL and the Dollar Boys of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning; a cleanup campaign in Tubmanburg; a Thanksgiving and Intercessory prayer service to be held at the Mount Zion Grove Baptist Church and a renaming and a dedicatory ceremony of the Brigade Preparatory school at the EBK Military Barracks, among others.
