During a farewell program held in his honor, the National Imam Council made a special request to the former Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) Minister Amara M. Konneh requesting him to provide the council a mean of transportation across the length and breadth of Liberia.
The council told former Minister Konneh that the council needs a vehicle so that their work can be smoothen and coordination between the central office and the regional offices at the county level be enhanced.
Making the presentation on behalf of the foundation, Valai M. Dorley mentioned that the gesture is intended to fulfill a promise made to the Imams by Former Finance and Development Planning Minister Amara M. Konneh.
“Based on your request, Minister Konneh through the foundation wants to fulfill the promise he made because Allah has blessed our former minister,” Dorley indicated.
Dorley “this is not the beginning; the foundation has been engaged in services to help humanity and the assistance includes all religions. We will not stop here; our next engagement is to renovate the Mosque in the Prison center. We will visit and assist schools around the country”.
He lamented “our doors are open to assist anyone from any faith in as much as we believe in serving humanity and we want Imams operations to be very smooth so that they engage the communities and pray for Liberia”.
Receiving the keys to the Pickup, the head of the National Imam Council of Liberia Sheikh Alikrayee applauded the AMK Foundation for the gesture and promised the full utilization of the vehicle.
“We pray blessings upon brother Konneh through his foundation for this initiative because this is the first time in the history of the National Imam Council that a group will identify with us,” Sheikh Alikrayee stated.
He furthered “we pray that Allah elevate, protect and bless him in every way possible and the vehicle will be used in the interest of the council, Imams in Liberia, Muslims, Islam and all Liberians”.
