Former Secretary General of the Strategic Management team of the Unity Party, Mr. Samuel Worzie, says his decision to join the Coalition for Democratic Change is based on his political belief that the party is the best political institution to provide sustainable and adequate leadership in Liberia.
Speaking on the May 2, 2017 edition of the Capitol Breakfast Club, Worzie disclosed that considering the miserable performance of the Unity Party, he strongly believes the CDC led government will protect the interest of the masses, and emancipate Liberians from poverty and underdevelopment. According to him, he realized the Unity Party dismal performance long ago which caused him to become vocal on societal ills such as corruption, nepotism, autocracy and the marginalization of the people. The former official of the Strategic Management team of the Unity Party said it is a glorious opportunity to join the CDC. He said during crucial elections, most especially in underdeveloped countries, there can be lot of crossovers, with some people one party for another based on personal interest. However, Worzie said his decision to move to the CDC is in the best interest of the downtrodden masses. CDC, he said, remains the biggest and most reliable political party in Liberia. According to him, the Coalition is the beacon of hope for those who have been marginalized. Disclosing that he plans to contest the representative in seat in Montserrado County district #12, Worzie noted: “It is laughable for people to be skeptical of the primary. I will contest the CDC primary in District #12. I believe in the leadership; the process will be transparent and there will be no interference as it is presumed by detractors.”
