The public relations officer of the “Eighteeners for Boakai Movement”, Michael T. Yennego, says presidency is not a place where politicians go to try their luck, but rather a place for qualified and prepared politicians.
According to him one has to be prepared with long term governance and experience to continue the drive, which according to him, the United Party led by President Sirleaf has started over the past years in her two terms of service. He made the statement yesterday in Monrovia during the Capitol Breakfast Morning show, where he noted that the group has x-rayed all of the candidates in the race and found no one with such characters except VP Boakai. “We have put all the aspirants on x-ray and found no one but VP Boakai, who will make the best choice at this movement. Based upon this we the first and second time voters are doing everything possible in our strengths to raise the flag of his presidential bid. Liberia’s future deepens on the young people, and we are in the vast majority of the people,” he added. Recently a Group under the banner “18-23 for Boakai” stormed the grounds of the Unity Party headquarter in Congo Town in support of Vice President Joseph Boakai presidency comes October of this year. The group in a proposal explained that their decision to support the presidency of the Vice President is the confidence they have in him that he can create a brighter future for Liberia and its citizens. Reading the proposal of support on behalf of the group, the public relations officer Michael T. Yennego noted that many young people have blamed their failure to vote on the lack of information, and not the lack of interest. Against this background, he said we have organized the “18-23 for Boakai” targeting the first-time voters nationwide for Vice President Boakai presidency. “The campaign will touch every county,” he added. They at the same time used the occasion to call on all first time voters to join the drive in making VP Boakai the next president of the country.
