The UPP was founded by members of the progressives headed by Liberia former Foreign Minister, the late Gabriel Barccus Matthews.
Addressing well wishers and partisans of the party yesterday Mr. Wento observed that inequality and the mismanagement of the country resources are contributing factors for the conflict which further divided the citizens.
He said the UPP Government will ensure that the country resources are used efficiently to accelerate development in all counties including free education for primary up to high schools.
The UPP political leader also promised to minimize corruption in Government by prosecuting all accused, whose properties will be confiscated and auctioned by the Government if found guilty.
Mr. Wento assured the people of Liberia that under his leadership corruption will be diminished, noting “all Government officials will be restricted in handling Government finances, especially development funds.”
He also assured the nation that the rule of law and respect for human rights will be enhanced, and that the court system of the country will not be corrupt as it is now in the country, where it has become difficult for a poor citizen to get justice.
Mr. Wento who also claimed to be a grassrooter promised to prioritize national social services as a key pillar of the conomy wheel, enhance revenue generation to support social welfare, and improve the lives of those living in slum communities in Monrovia and its environs.
He called on the all voters in the country not to cast their votes in favor of someone because of likeness or financial interest but rather for patriotism.
