According to the Director General Dewitt VonBallmoos, the regional office is an important element of the institution developmental goal and a strategic focus of the nation building process of the government.
He made the statement over the weekend in Kakata during the dedication ceremony program of the Margibi County regional office, where he disclosed that NASSCORP has undertaken the initiative to construct regional offices throughout the country.
“In order to alleviate the problem of leasing, the corporation has undertaken the acquisition of land in the various counties to construct regional offices and residences throughout the country,” he noted.
NASSCORP, he said, will have no reason to lease private buildings for its offices and residences so that money spent would be redirected to other profitable investments and the sustainability of solvency of the social security program.
“The facility we are dedicating today was constructed by the Muson Group Inc. (a Liberian owned Company) at a cost of about US$400,000, paid for in full with the cooperation’s own funds. Work on the project began in June 2015 and was completed in February of this year.
The Margibi County regional office also has resident facilities for the regional director. It is also envisaged that where necessary, banking facilities will be included in these regional hubs,” he said.
The National Social Security & Welfare Corporation of Liberia (NASSCORP) is an autonomous public institution charged with implementing three schemes designed to provide social security protections to eligible formal sector workers in the country.
