The group said the Church is concerned over the indiscriminate ritualistic killings, the suspicious and questionable “drowning” of people, the deaths of people in security detention sites, and the sense of insecurity after the departure of UNMIL.
The Christian taskforce is therefore calling on would-be trouble makers along with their sponsors and collaborators to stop such diabolic plans and seek God’s kingdom for the restoration of salvation in their hearts.
In a release, the group said the Church will join the people of Liberia in watching and waiting for the final conclusion of investigations into the various deaths that occurred recently in the country, as well as efforts by the Government to ensure total peace after the departure of the international peace keeping forces.
The group also observed that autopsy is a scientific method used to determine the cause of death, but it does not identify killers. “It is the responsibility of the national Government to investigate and provide the people with comprehensible conclusions as the situation unfolds,” the group said.
The release called on all peace loving people to value the lives of other people and live within the confines of the law and the values of God, the Creator and Judge of humankind.
The group in the release recited a famous biblical quotation from Genesis 9:5-6: “And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made He man.”
