The Press Union of Liberia, in partnership with USAID/ Internews will hold a two-day Talk show host Symposium from Friday, June 30 to Saturday, July 1, 2017, at the Golden Key Hotel, in the King Gray Community, Paynesville.
The Symposium will focus on sharing experiences, providing knowledge and skills on how to professionally moderate radio debates especially during activities leading to the October Presidential and Representative Electoral Process. The event will also be characterized by how a radio talk show host will drive an issue-based political and conflict sensitive debate among candidates, as well as how to guide the electorates towards making informed choices free of violence. The conference will be facilitated and co-facilitated by renowned Nigerian and Liberian Talk Show Hosts, Ms. Funke-Treasure Durodola and Kwame Clement, respectively; while participants will be drawn from more than fifteen radio stations in and around Monrovia. The conference is being held under the auspices of the USAID-Funded Liberia Media Development (LMD) Project. It is being implemented by Internews, in partnership with the Press Union of Liberia, Liberia Media Center, Accountability LAB, Liberia Media Development Initiatives, Center for Media Studies and Peace Building, Albany Associates and GeoPoll. Participants will include David Targbe, Farbric FM 101 MHz; Mr. Trojan Kiazolu, Farbric FM 101 MHz; Mr. Kelvin Deemey, Prime FM; Mr. Mathew Nyenplu, Prime FM; Daniel Ankrah, LBS; and Mr. Patrick Honnah, LBS.
