Mr. Williams wants the Truckers Association to see themselves as ambassadors of the port to the outside world, because their role is very crucial in the operation and administration of the port industry.
The NPA boss emphasized the invaluable services of the port truckers as they are always prepared to deliver cargoes to designated consignees but challenged them to ensure their trucks are road worthy.
He said as the Port Management strives to improve the sector, it is incumbent upon every port user to collectively contribute to the growing wave of development by ensuring that the infrastructures are usable for everyone’s interest and source of revenue generation.
Mr. Williams was speaking over the weekend when he served as guest speaker at the induction of the new leadership of the Port Truckers Association of Liberia.
He encouraged the new corps of officers of the Truckers Association to seek advice and hold consultation with those who elected them to power are reflected in every decision of the association.
He spoke on the theme: “The Importance of the Truckers in the Port Industry and their expected contribution to the growth and development of the Industry”.
