Presenting the donated items to the Benson Street Mosque last Tuesday, former Minister Konneh said he was pleased to identify with his Muslim brothers and sisters in Liberia at this time and admonished heads of various mosques in the country to distribute the items peacefully without prejudice or malice.
The former Minister presented bags of rice, gallons of oil and Margi cubes.
He said during the days of Ramadan around the World, Muslims with high potential must identify with the less-fortunate Muslims that don’t have anything to eat.
Minister Konneh averred that Allah demands that those that are blessed must share with their brothers who are below the margin either due to poverty or some circumstances in life.
He promised to always recognize the commitments of the Muslims in Liberia irrespective of status or conditions.
In another donation, Representative Berrian lauded the Muslim community in Liberia for respecting one of the four pillars of Islam, and urged them to always remember the country in their prayers, noting: “We all have one God that we all pray to irrespective of religious status.
The Montserrado County Lawmaker made the statement on Tuesday when he presented over 30 bags of rice and oil to the Muslim community in his district.
He said his donation is his own way of identifying with his Muslim brothers and sisters and noted that he hopes to do more in the future.
The Chief Imams of both mosques on Benson Street and Sinkor thanked the two men for their efforts and said they will ensure that every Muslim in their domains receives rice on the day of breaking the Ramadan in the country.
They promised to pray for the Government and people of Liberia for peaceful coexistence after years of devastating war.
