In an interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA) in Sanniquellie Wednesday, CSA Biometric Program Region-1 Director Steve F. Kettor said biometric teams have been carrying out the exercise in the county since January 31, lasting for 15 days. Kettor told LINA that Team ‘A’ started registrations in Sanniquellie, while Team ‘B’ began the exercise in Karnplay. According to him, the process will continue in the six major cities of the county - Sanniquellie, Karnplay, Bahn, Tappita, Saclepea and Ganta. He disclosed that Bong County, being one of the three counties under Region-1, was completed last month and that the teams are expected to start the exercise in Lofa County late February. The CSA official is urging civil servants under any of the categories to ensure they are enrolled or risk losing their employment status upon the completion of the exercise. The CSA Biometric enrollment exercise is aimed at helping the government remove those considered “ghosts” from its payroll.
