President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has made several appointments in government affecting the Ministries of State for Presidential Affairs, Transport, Education, Information, Defense, Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs.
Others affected are the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company, Executive Protection Service and the National Security Agency, while a National Steering Committee on Climate Change has also been constituted. These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate where applicable. At the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, Mr. Mr. Sylvester Grigsby was named Minister, while Rev. Sando E. Townsend becomes Religious Advisor to the President. Mr. Samuel Wlue was appointed Minister of Transport, an at the Ministry of Education, Mr. Gbovadeh G. Gbilia steps in as Deputy Minister for Planning, Research, and Development, while Mr. Saa David Nyuma, Jr. is the new Assistant Minister for Planning, Research, and Development. Ms. Florence Allen-Jones becomes Assistant Minister for Early Childhood Education and Ms. Lalata Neufville Wei was named Assistant Minister for Fiscal Affairs and Human Resource Development. Mr. Bobby Livingstone was appointed Deputy Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism while Mr. Morris Dukuly becomes Chairman, Board of Directors of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company. The Executive Protective Services get Mr. Sam Gaye as its new Director, while the former Director Mr. Frank Nyekan goes to the National Security Agency as Consultant. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. WillyeMai Tolbert King was named Ambassador to La Cote d’Ivoire and Ms. Angela Cassell-Bush as Ambassador. The Ministry of National Defense gets Col. Prince C. Johnson, III ad Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) to be promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and Lt. Col Davidson Forley, current Commandant of the Armed Forces Training Command (AFTC) has been appointed as the Brigade Commander and is to be promoted to the rank of Colonel. Several local appointments were made at the Ministry of Internal Affairs where in Grand Bassa County Mr. Moses Janjay Tinko Bull was made Assistant Superintendent for Development. In Sinoe County, Mr. John Karlor is Commissioner, Juarzon County District; Mr. Frederick N. Koffa, District Inspector, Juarzon Statutory District; and Mr. A. Menjay Wleh, City Mayor, Mexico City, Juarzon Statutory District. Others appointed are Mr. Isaac B. Quetoh, Township Commissioner, Tobo Township; Mr. Joe D. Weego Harmon, Township Commissioner, Chelor Township and Mr. Harry Dorbor, Township Commissioner, Needweh Township. In Maryland County, Mr. Gyude Brown was named City Mayor of Harper City. Meanwhile, a National Steering Committee on Climate Change has been set up by government, comprising the Environmental Protection Agency; Forestry Development Authority; Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy; Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
