The Forestry Development Authority (FDA) is seeking partners to ensure sustainable management of the Tai-Grebo-Sapo Forest complex.
FDA Managing Director Darlington Tuagben stated that managing this forest area is currently challenging due to the financial capacity limitation of the Authority.
Tuagben made the disclosure recently at the start of the Fourth Steering Committee Meeting for Trans-boundary collaboration in Tai-Grebo-Sapo (TGS) Forest Complex between Liberia and Cote D’Ivoire, held in Congo Town outside Monrovia.
The workshop ended on Tuesday, May 30.
He noted that due to financial limitation, international support is crucial to meet the ambitious commitments Liberia has made at several fora.
He stressed that this is simply to tap on the assistance of donor and non-governmental organizations to form part of the drive for the conservation of the area.
Tuagben emphasized that Public-Private Partnership can be one of the means of enhancing the management of the Tai-Grebo-Sapo Forest Complex.
