A mass citizen’s movement for the advancement of citizens from Gbarpolu, Margibi, Nimba, Bong and Lofa Counties called the North Central Alliance (NCA) has released a stern warning to group of people or political parties to immediately halt any efforts that have the tendency to influence the Supreme Court for making a lawful determination in the Code of Conduct (CoC) law suits currently before it.
The Alliance through a press release from the National Secretary General L. Moses Kiyean Kwehai said, “It is prejudicial and extremely dangerous for a group of ill-minded party leaders who have absolutely nothing to offer the Liberian people to be moving from place to place and making misguided utterances intended to circumvent the implementation of the CoC”. The Alliance said that it has intelligence report that some party leaders and their surrogates are holding midnight meeting to design strategies and plans to undermine and negatively influence the highest court of the land in making an ‘unfettered’ determination of the CoC suits in the national interest. NCA warned that individuals or group of people should desist from doing anything that has the tendency to bring the credibility of the Court into disrepute thereby causing serious national security implications for the country. The Alliance therefore echoed its confidence reposed on the Supreme Court and admonished the Court to implore a ‘fearless legal mind’ and decide matters in the best interest of the law.
