According to George Cooper, General President and head of delegation, the visit was intended to reach out to youth and ensure reconciliation which was prompted by the Association of the Full Gospel Mission Assembly in Freetown.
“The civil crisis affected both countries. In an effort as Christians to rebuild our broken pieces, we decided to bring young people from across Liberia and other countries to encourage young people to see reason for reconciliation. We want to hold series of activities that will lead to total reconciliation”, Mr. Cooper said.
Mr. Cooper said that the aim of the visit was to assess a flexible study so as to be able to gather youth of Liberia in December of this year for the mission, amongst others.
“Our mission was geared towards doing a feasibility study for a youth mission that will be held in Freetown Sierra Leone and the mission is in collaboration with the young people of Sierra Leone and Liberia”, he said.
“We hope to push for peace and reconciliation between young people of Liberia and Sierra Leone. So the team of three persons left on Saturday to do the feasibility study as to the possibility of the youth peace mission in December”, he said.
