Speaking at two separate Legislative Debates in Suakoko recently, the candidates made it clear that elections are about the exchange of ideas and opinions and not a war game.
The candidates described the October elections as crucial to the growth and progress of the country, and warned their supporters to desist from acts that could undermine the peace.
They encouraged their supporters to ensure that engagements with the electorates are issue- based and avoid attacking supporters of other candidates to ensure that district five remains peaceful.
The Bong County Legislative Debates are being organized by the Center for Media Studies and Peace Building and Community Radio Stations in Bong with funding from USAID through Internews.
The debates are part of the Liberia Media Development program aimed at providing the opportunity for candidates to provide their platforms to convince their constituents that they have the best alternatives for the district.
Meanwhile, the debate for electoral District Six will be held at the Salala Administration Building.
