Ambassador Tunde Ajisomo also assured support for Liberian women in politics during the conduct of the upcoming polls.
He said ECOWAS has always provided similar support to electoral bodies in other West African States during general and presidential elections.
The ECOWAS envoy gave the assurance Tuesday during a Policy Dialogue on “Vision 2030 and the 2017 Elections; Reaffirming Commitment to a Common Future through Elections.”
The one-day policy dialogue held at a local hotel in Monrovia was organized by the Governance Commission under the theme “One People, One Nation United for Peace and Sustainable Development."
Ambassador Ajisomo observed that the participation and representation of women in the hierarchies and structures of political parties in the country has been very low over the years.
He called for increased participation and representation of women in the hierarchies and structures of political parties in Liberia.
