Police authorities in Monrovia have arrested and charged two Liberian musicians Rabbie Nassrallah, alias “Nasseman”, and Dyers Mayer for illegal sale, distribution and control of drugs.
The police charge sheet mentioned that Rabbie Nass was arrested with 90.0 grams of marijuana valued L$1,750 and its equivalent of US$20.00 by DEA officers in the Fiamah Community. According to the police indictment the musician was arrested based on complaint filed by the Liberia Drug Enforcement Authority (LDEA). The police investigation stated that a huge quantity of marijuana was also confiscated from the business center of the accused. However, the police investigation revealed that both Rabbie Nass and Dyer Myers persistently denied ever being in possession of said narcotic substance. The charge sheet further noted that the Liberian musical icon was in violation of section 14.103 of the amended penal law of the Republic of Liberia and is thereby awaiting Court trial. Dyers Myers, another musician related to the crime has also been arrested and charged for the same crime in the Sinkor 24th Street community by DEA officers. Myers, aged 51, was arrested with two and a half kilograms of marijuana valued at L$64,500, equivalent to US$750.
